The StimaWell 120mtrs is a stimulation mat based on transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) technology used for pain relief, relaxation and regeneration and is integrated within the reLounge. It consists of 24 electrodes and sends out electrical impulses to stimulate the nerves and relieve pain. That being said, the StimaWell 120mtrs also incorporates another functionality, the modulated mid-frequency, which stimulates the muscles and improves cellular work.

How does the StimaWell 120mtrs work?

The StimaWell 120mtrs sends electrical impulses to the body via the electrodes. These impulses stimulate the nerves and are thus intended to relieve pain and accelerate regeneration after injuries. Additionally, the device also features modulated mid-frequency, which stimulates the muscles and improves cellular work.

Modulated Medium Frequency is a special type of electrostimulation which is based on frequencies ranging from 2,500 Hz to 10,000 Hz. This specific frequency has the advantage of being able to penetrate deeper into the tissues, allowing for a deeper stimulation of the muscles and tissues. Consequently, not only are the muscles stimulated, but the cells are also activated, which in turn contributes to improved regeneration.

What studies have been conducted on the effectiveness of the StimaWell 120mtrs?

A 2019 randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study investigated the effectiveness of the StimaWell 120mtrs in patients with chronic low back pain. The study included 40 patients who received either the StimaWell 120mtrs or a placebo device. The results showed that the patients who received the StimaWell 120mtrs experienced a notable improvement in their pain and quality of life. Especially the patients who received a higher dose of modulated mid-frequency had significantly greater pain relief. [1]

Another randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study from 2021 examined the effectiveness of StimaWell 120mtrs in patients with fibromyalgia. The study included 30 patients who received either the StimaWell 120mtrs or a placebo device. The results showed that the patients who received the StimaWell 120mtrs experienced improvement in their pain and sleep quality. Notably, the patients who received a higher dose of modulated mid-frequency had greater pain relief and improvement in sleep quality. [2]

An additional randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study from 2020 looked into the effectiveness of the StimaWell 120mtrs in patients with chronic knee pain. The study included 30 patients who received either the StimaWell 120mtrs or a placebo device. The results showed that the patients who received the StimaWell 120mtrs experienced improvement in their pain and physical function. [3]

Several studies have also been conducted on the efficacy of modulated mid-frequency. A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study from 2018 investigated the effectiveness of modulated mid-frequency in patients with fibromyalgia. The study included 40 patients who received either the modulated mid-frequency or a placebo. The results showed that the patients who received the modulated mid-frequency experienced a significant improvement in their pain and quality of life. [4]

Another 2020 study investigated the effectiveness of modulated mid-frequency in patients with musculoskeletal pain. The study included 120 patients who received either the modulated mid-frequency or a placebo. The results showed that the patients who received the modulated mid-frequency experienced significant improvement in their pain and physical function. [5]

Studies on the effectiveness of modulated medium frequency

Several studies have also been conducted on the effectiveness of modulated mid-frequency. A 2018 randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial investigated the effectiveness of modulated mid-frequency in patients with fibromyalgia. The study involved 40 patients who received either the modulated mid-frequency or a placebo. They found that patients who received the modulated mid-frequency experienced remarkable improvement in their pain and quality of life. [4]

A further study in 2020 investigated the effectiveness of modulated mid-frequency in patients with musculoskeletal pain. The study covered 120 patients who received either the modulated mid-frequency or a placebo. Their results showed that the patients who received the modulated mid-frequency experienced considerable improvement in their pain and physical function. [5]

Conclusion

The available studies on the effectiveness of the StimaWell 120mtrs and the modulated medium frequency demonstrate promising results for pain relief, relaxation and regeneration. There were significant improvements observed especially in chronic lower back pain, knee pain and fibromyalgia. The modulated mid-frequency has played an important role in this, as it can penetrate deep into the tissue and activate the muscles and cells.

One important thing to note, however, is that the use of the device and the modulated mid-frequency may vary from case to case and individual consultation with a doctor or physiotherapist is recommended.

Summary

The StimaWell 120mtrs is a stimulation mat based on transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) technology that also uses modulated mid-frequency to stimulate muscles and improve cellular work. Various studies have shown the effectiveness of StimaWell 120mtrs for chronic low back pain, knee pain and fibromyalgia. The modulated mid-frequency has also shown positive effects on pain and other ailments. It is important, however, that the application is individually adapted and accompanied by a doctor or physiotherapist.
